Aswan Nilometer is not a speed or scale counter or even a thermometer, it is the Nilometer that Measures the water level of the Nile and goes back to the year 7000!

 

The ancient Egyptians almost relied on the Nile in various fields of life. If the water level rose, flooding occurs. If the water level dropped, drought occurs, but both are meant disaster. Fortunately, the invention of the Nilometer comes to help in reading the water level and to predict the fate of the country.

 

That person who managed to read the Nilometer possessed all the knowledge to the most sacred treasures of Egypt. The Nilometers in the Pharaonic era took many different forms, at first it was just a rock located in a suitable place in the Nile, also it took the form of a wooden ladder to read the water level.
