Tomb of Bannantiu

Banentino cemetery is a tomb carved in the rocks and belongs to the 26 dynasty, it consists of the well leading to the tomb, a hall with four columns, the burial chamber, side chambers that were re-used in the Roman era.

 

The tomb is situated within the city of Bawiti in Bahariya Oasis, it was discovered after the disclosure of many stone coffins beside it, which contains found decomposing mummies as well as artifacts and statues known as (Al Oshabty).

 

The tomb’s name can be pronounced as “Banati” or "Banentinom" or "Bnewta" as it is written in different ways in the texts of the cemetery.
