El-Minia
El-Minia Governorate is considered one of the important cities in Egypt and it is called Bride of Upper Egypt nowadays, because of its important location as it is in the Middle of Egypt between Upper and Lower Egypt as well as the flourished and important history that El-Minia occupied previously in different periods.
Its name has been driven from the ancient Egyptian language as it used to be called Men`et Khufu which means the nurse of Khufu and then it was developed to be Mouni which means the house and later on it became El-Minia
The City gained a great importance when King Akhnaton in the new Kingdom assigned it as a capital of Egypt and as a center for his new religion, as he preached for the monotheism of God Aten and he abandoned the polytheism.
El-Minia City is an attraction in Egypt because it is including different monuments from different periods such as Roman, Greek, Pharonic, Bezantine and Arabs Periods
You will be able to find different attractions in El-Minia City such as Tell el Amarna tombs which were built by King Akhnaton and Benni Hassan Tombs, as well you will find monuments from the roman period Such as tomb and chapel of Petosiris in Tuna El gebel and a lot more.
