El-Hakim Mosque

El-Hakim Mosque is the second largest Fatimid mosque in Cairo. The mosque was completed by Al-Hakim in 990 by the Caliph Al Aziz Billah. Building this mosque started in 990 and and was finished by al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah. It is a major Islamic religious site in Cairo, the Mosque is located in "Islamic Cairo", on the east side of Muizz Street. It is constructed of brick with stone facades and minarets. It hosts hundreds of worshippers heading weekly for it to perform their midday prayers, which keep it fame as the most crowded mosque of Old Cairo.
