Tombs of the Nobles

The Tombs of the Nobles are a rocky graves located on the west bank of Aswan, these graves belong to the rulers of the city of Aswan and Elephantine Island, the tombs are carved into the sandstone dating back to the ancient times. 

 

These tombs have a historic significance putting it at the forefront of the tombs and graves of Upper Egypt, among the most important tombs of the area are the tombs of (Mejo and Sabni), which gives us a brief idea about the architectural style of the graves as well as titles and functions of the rulers.

 

The inscriptions written on the walls of these tombs show the role played by those Nobles to protect the country and their journeys within Africa.
