The Fortress of Shali
The fortress of Shali is the place where the people in Siwa used to live in the past, The fortress of Siwa which known as Shali Ghadi, It was built on natural Rocks and Kershif which made of Sand and Salt, but it damaged in 1926 due to heavy rains after construction with three days, Then the governorate replaces by modern cinder block and sheet metal roof to protect the fortress, it consider one of the oldest Egypt attraction.
The fortress of Shali is a wonderful site on the day light or night time when it is illuminated, Hiking to the top for some wonderful views of the surrounding oasis, especially evening time to watch a magnificent sunset of Siwa Oasis.
The fortress of Shali remains a prominent feature, towering five stories above the modern town and light at night by floodlights, Southwest Side which curves around from the north side of the Shali, Several uneven Floating streets lead from the southwest end of the Shali into it, the ground rent in places by deep cracks.
