Cleopatra’s Spring

Cleopatra’s Spring

Bubbling springs are hidden among Siwa Oasis’ palm groves, one of them is Cleopatra’s spring, and it is located on the path that leads to the Temple of Amun, where the crystal-clear natural spring water gurgles up into a large stone pool. Nowadays the path is used by tourists and some people used it for healing, in ancient time it was only used by brides.

They used the name of Cleopatra to refer to the beauty of the pool among the various pools in Siwa Oasis. People do not bath in these pools in skimpy swimsuits and most often remain clothed. Therefore, a good idea if one intends to bath here is to bring a covering garment suitable to the occasion.
