Imhotep Museum

The Imhotep Museum is situated at Sakkara complex, it was opened in 2006, named after Imhotep who was the great architect of the Step Pyramid. A modern museum, both in technology and security, this is a place not to be missed on your next visit to Sakkara. Located twenty kilometers south of the Giza Pyramids, Sakkara is the site of the Step Pyramid and the funerary complex of King Zoser.


The display includes reconstructed architectural elements from the Step Pyramid complex, beautiful statuary, and objects from royal and elite tombs. The labels are in Arabic, English, and French. Imhotep was the first real doctor known in human history as he invented many medications and drugs that were used to cure a large number of diseases.
