Agricultural Museum

The Agricultural Museum is one of the largest museums in the world as it represents the agriculture process in ancient times, which allows the visitor to identify the evolution of life in the Egyptian countryside.

This museum is located in the Giza governorate - northern Egypt - In one of its neighborhoods "Doki" and includes 7 large museums, on an area of 30 acres (125 square meters), it was opened 60 years ago, and contains thousands of exhibits dealing with the history of agriculture in Egypt since the first human steps on the land of Egypt, until the present time.

It is the second most important place that specializes in 'agriculture' in the world after the Agricultural Museum in the Hungarian capital 'Budapest'. The establishment of the Agricultural Museum goes back to the era of King Fouad I, who felt that it was necessary to establish an Egyptian Agricultural Museum, with a main mission to disseminate information of agricultural and economic development in the country, the king hired the designer of the Agricultural Museum in the Hungarian capital «Budapest» to design and establish the Egyptian Agricultural Museum. The saray of Princess Fatima Ismail, Khedive Ismail's daughter, was chosen to be the Museum.

The museum has a rare collection that does not exist anywhere in the world, including the extinct plant of "Barads", which was sacred in the Pharaonic era.
